But I am terribly good at (mis)quoting things.
Well, everyone talks about his name, so I'm going to jump on the bandwagon.
My name is Talia. The only other person I have ever found with my name is in a Batman comic book.
So on the subject of things that I should really have got past by now, I stubbornly refuse to listen to music from after I was born because do you know what? People thought the Spice Girls were cool and no one realizes that Dead End Street is a cover and bands use punctuation marks in their names without thought to their well-being.
Punctuation abuse should not be tolerated. Ever. That isn't what commas are for.
I am something of a literature snob, which doesn't mean that I'm any more well-read than you are; it just means that I'm more pretentious about it. I think The Catcher in the Rye is one of the best books ever along with anything Oscar Wilde so much as breathed on and Raymond Chandler's collected works. I also like Harry Potter, but I'm perfectly happy with its being over. If I were trapped on a desert island for the rest of eternity, I would a) start to fancy coconut juice and b) take Good Omens and the third Harry Potter book with me.
I do theatre lighting and pretend to be artistic in my spare time. Instead of being academic, I read detective novels under my desk in history class. When I'm feeling particularly risque, I switch to a grammar book.
And because, honestly, i can only try to sound clever about myself for so long: I think Alexander the Great is the best thing that has ever happened to this planet, and I am sticking to that story.
